| Caring Together Spain | ||
| Since 1996, Caring Together has been active in providing professional Palliative Care (end-of-life care) to those in need of it.
We believe that the end of life is a natural part of all of our lives and that we should devote more resources to it, so that those who sadly are leaving us are given the opportunity to be free of pain, free of indignity, & free of loneliness. Caring Together's Advice about caring for patients at home is free on request (special line 619 216 270) and if the costs of the care we recommend are beyond the means of the family we'll look for ways to help. If you approve our programme please call Steve or Thea (Local Fundraising Co-Ordinators) to offer them your support. |

| Expatriate Ostomatis of Spain (EOS) | ||
| Expatriate Ostomatis of Spain started as a loose-knit support group in Javea in 1997, and struggled along without any funds for a long time. They have had to regroup a few times because, unfortunately, their early members died. Over 90 percent of their members have or have had cancer. They registered in 2003. Although they are not medics they frequently nurse people over the phone where there is no stoma nurse for them or the patient has been discharged with no equipment other than the bag they are wearing. They also give support to the third world, supporting child ostomists, sending surplus supplies to places where governments do not allow importation on the necessary equipment or there are no funds at all. (equipment sent is stocks left by their departed friends). They try to help and support anyone in Spain generating as much information as possible to all who need it. |
